Preston is an eternal student and Sower of seeds for financial education, creative arts, and building multi-generational businesses in black communities. Inspired by the phrase “each one, teach one”, He has presented financial education programs in conjunction with Jack N Jill, Kappa League, and 100 Black Men of Houston. As a financial advisor, he encouraged clients to bring their children to financial planning meetings so the children would be exposed to the concepts of investing and planning for wealth transfer.
Preston has spent more than twenty years of his professional life working in traditional financial institutions. Most recently he was responsible for crafting an omni-channel member experience and leading the lending teams at Smart Financial Credit Union in Houston. He is a servant leader known for creating and implementing lending growth initiatives while promoting and protecting positive organizational culture.
Preston received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Howard University in Washington, DC and an MBA from the University of Redlands in Redlands, CA. He has earned a certificate in executive education from SC Johnson graduate school of management at Cornell University and earned the CCUE designation (certified Credit Union Executive) from the University of Wisconsin Graduate School of Banking. Preston also holds a certification in Non-profit leadership from the George Foundation and Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce.
As the Chief Lending Officer, Preston oversees lending strategies, manages credit risk, and drives growth initiatives, leveraging his extensive experience in financial management. He is also the founder of BASK Consulting Group, LLC, a firm specializing in commercial real estate finance consulting. He is also a founding board member of 5Strong Scholarship Foundation – Houston.
In his personal life, Preston is an avid golfer and a creative writer, expressing his thoughts and experiences through poetry and short stories. His life is a blend of professional excellence, community service, and personal fulfillment.
